make it last.

Finally have a moment to breathe.

I can’t stop thinking lately about how incredibly fragile we all our as human beings. It hardly takes anything for a human life to just be swept away into the dark abyss of nothingness. I never really thought about it until I lost my marching band director last fall. He was right there with us on our trip to perform in Michigan, seemingly healthy as could be, and then around midnight we got the news that he had passed of a heart attack. It was absolutely out of nowhere. He was there to inspire us one minute, and the next minute he was gone forever.

For the months following the tragedy, I had some of the worst nightmares I’ve ever had…that I lost all of my loved ones out of nowhere. The experience of losing my director taught me first hand how easy it is to just lose somebody without warning.

The important thing I took from that horrible experience was to never hesitate to the tell the people in your life that they mean the world to you. I call my parents more often, and I ALWAYS tell them that I love them…I’m also much less hesitant to tell the role models in my life that I look up to them and always will.

Never be embarrassed or hesitant let someone know the degree of value that they serve in your life. None of us are going to be around forever. It’s up to you to make it last.

Peace out.

Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna be much better if you only will
